The day after you move
-Familiarize yourself with your new community by locating the closest grocery stores, dry cleaners, post office, hospitals and gas stations in the area.
-Take care of your banking needs in your new community, opening checking accounts and making transfers where necessary.
-Locate the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in your new town to determine driver’s licensing and vehicle registration requirements.
-Contact the sanitation department for information on trash collection days.
-Contact the Chamber of Commerce to obtain information on schools and other community resources. If you’ve already transferred your children’s school records, take care of any parts of the registration process that require your presence at the school.
-Register to vote.
